About Us
Dog Pix and Flix is division of HQ Dog, a company founded by dog lovers for dog lovers to provide a series of Internet based dog-related information and entertainment experiences.Dog Pix and Flix, our first litter, was created to give dog owners and dog photographers a place to show off their finest dog photography so other dog lovers could enjoy it. As the site develops, we will find quality items that feature interesting dog pictures and will allow you to do fun things with the dog pictures you find here. Please tell us about things you would like to see or be able to do on the site and to send us your suggestions for contest themes. HQ Dog was founded by Barbara Robertson and Pam Kerwin. Both Barbara and Pam have high tech/computer graphics backgrounds, muddy floors and dog hair pretty much everywhere. The long and short of it is that Pam has Bearded Collies and Barbara has Rhodesian Ridgebacks. The partners are both actively involved in dog training, conformation and performance activities with their canine charges. Barbara Robertson began attending training seminars given by the nation's leading animal trainers in the mid-nineties and has taught "good manners" and agility classes at the Marin Humane Society. She's served two terms on the Board of Directors for the San Francisco Bay Area Rhodesian Ridgeback Club, on the genetics committee for the Rhodesian Ridgeback Club of the US, and is a member of APDT. To pay for dog food, Barbara is an award-winning journalist specializing in visual effects and animation as well as dog stories. In February, she received the 2004 ASPCA Humane Issues Award from the Dog Writers Association of America for her article "Dog is in the Details" in The Bark magazine, Spring #26. Pam Kerwin has been a senior executive in several successful companies, including Pixar Animation Studios. She is currently managing two Internet companies, raising two beardies and twin boys. Pam is a Director of the Bearded Collie Club of the Golden West and an active member of the Bearded Collie Fanciers of Northern California and the Bearded Collie Club of America. |
